ORLANDO -- Former Texas Women's Golf standout Shannon Fish has been revealed as one of 12 contestants in the upcoming season of "Big Break," the Golf Channel announced on Monday. Shot on location at Atlantis, Paradise Islands, Bahamas, the series' 17th season will premier May 14 at 8 p.m. Central.
Fish turned professional in 2011 following graduation from The University of Texas and she posted four top-four finishes on the Cactus Tour in her rookie season.
Fish capped off her collegiate career by becoming the 14th player in Texas history to earn All-Big 12 Women's Golf Team honors with a tie for 11th place in the 2010 conference championship. She competed in 107 rounds as a Longhorn and averaged 76.98 strokes per round, including a 74.65 average in her final season on the Forty Acres.
In her four seasons at UT, Fish contributed to the team score in 86 competitive rounds (.851) for a mark that ranks ninth-best in school history (since 1993-94).
"Big Break Atlantis" features an all-female cast where contestants compete for an exemption into an LPGA event.
