THE LONGHORNS AGAINST THE RED RAIDERS ...
The Longhorns will travel to Texas Tech on Friday, Nov. 1, for their final regular-season match at 7 p.m. Texas is 12-5-3 against the Red Raiders all-time, sporting a 5-3-0 record when playing in Lubbock.
WINNING WAYS ...
With its 2-0 win over Stephen F. Austin on Friday, Oct. 25, Texas earned its 12th victory of the season, the most wins in a season for a Longhorn squad since 2008 (13). UT's unbeaten streak stands at five and the Longhorns have won eight of their last 10.
DYCHE GETS ON THE BOARD ...
Freshman Julia Dyche tacked on the second of two goals for Texas, the first of her career, in the 68th minute of the Longhorns' win over Stephen F. Austin. The play started with sophomore Kelsey Shimmick dribbling down the right side toward the corner. Shimmick crossed it back toward the top of the box and found the feet of Dyche, who sent it on the ground to the back of the net past Ladyjacks keeper Morgan Glick.
ZARNEGAR FINISHING STRONG …
Senior Gabby Zarnegar tallied her second goal of 2013, the game-winner over Stephen F. Austin in the sixth minute, marking the first multi-goal season of her career.
UP NEXT …
Texas heads to Kansas City, Mo., next week for the Big 12 Championship to be held at Swope Soccer Complex. The four quarterfinal matches will be played on Wednesday, Nov. 6, with the semifinals taking place on Friday, Nov. 8 and the championship game on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 3:30 p.m. Central.
