Strauss continues to lead No. 25 Women's Golf at Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Sophomore Bertine Strauss continued to lead the No. 25 Texas Women's Golf team on Saturday afternoon in the Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate with a 36-hole score of 5-over-par 149. Strauss (73-76) is tied for 16th place entering Sunday's final round, and the Longhorns (299-310) are tied for seventh place overall at 33-over 609.
Strauss began her second round strong with a pair of birdies on the first and third holes of Forest Hills Golf Club, but she was tripped by four bogeys and a double bogey over her final 14 holes to result in a 4-over scorecard.
Senior Katelyn Sepmoree (74-77) trails Strauss by two strokes at 7-over 151 and is tied for 20th place, while senior Haley Stephens (73-81) is tied for 34th at 10-over 154.
Senior Desiree Dubreuil (79-76=155) matched Strauss' team-low 4-over scorecard and is tied for 37th place through 36 holes. Freshman Natalie Karcher (84-82=166) rounds out the Texas squad in a tie for 85th.
Vanderbilt (290-293=583) maintained its first-round lead and is three strokes ahead of second-place Purdue (295-291=586). Notre Dame (303-290=593) is in third place entering Sunday's finale.
