WACO, Texas - Cal Towey went 2-for-4 with two RBI while starter Ryan Smith threw 6 2/3 innings Sunday as the Baylor Bears completed a Big 12 series sweep with the 5-2 win over the Texas Longhorns at Baylor Ballpark. The Bears swept the Longhorns for the first time since 2005.

Nathan Thornhill (2-5) took the loss for Texas (22-20, 5-13), allowing three runs on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings with a walk and three strikeouts.
With two outs in the third, Lawton Langford hit an 0-2 pitch into left for a single. Towey then singled to right before Nathan Orf doubled to left as Baylor scored the first run of the game. Baylor added two more runs in the fifth for a 3-0 lead. Mitch Price singled to left with Brett Doe attempting a sacrifice bunt, but Jacob Felts' throw to second pulled C.J Hinojosa off the bag as both runners were safe. Langford's bunt went back to Thornhill, who retired pinch-runner Logan Brown at third. After a Thornhill wild pitch moved up the runners, Towey delivered the two-run single to right.
A two-out rally for the Longhorns produced a run in the sixth. Mark Payton walked and Erich Weiss singled before Felts singled through the left side to plate Payton to make it 3-1 in favor of Baylor.
In the top of the seventh, Weston Hall reached with two outs after a wild pitch on his third strike. Brooks Marlow singled and Hinojosa beat out an infield single to make it a 3-2 lead for the Bears.
Baylor would respond with two runs in the eighth off Corey Knebel. Jake Miller doubled and later scored on Steve DalPorto's single before Duncan Wendel doubled home Adam Toth for the final run of the game.
