THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Texas Men's Golf signee Doug Ghim (70-68-66=204) won the CB&I Boys Championship by five strokes on Monday at the Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands.
Going into the final round tied for the lead with Carl Yuan, Ghim fired a 6-under-par 66 to clinch the title. Ghim made six birdies in the first eight holes coupled with a seventh birdie and a lone bogey for the rest of the round. Yuan and Andy Zhang tied for second at 7-under 204.
Ghim, the No. 11 junior in Golfweek's Class of 2014 (ranking as of Feb. 10, 2014), becomes the second Longhorn to win the Boys Championship at Carlton Woods. He was preceded by former Texas All-American and current PGA TOUR star Jordan Spieth who won the Championship in 2011.
