• Texas is making its 23rd consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championship.
• UT is 18-0 in NCAA Championship matches played in Austin. 2014 marks the 10th time Texas will host an NCAA Championship Regional (first and second rounds).
• The Longhorns hold a 45-31 record in the NCAA Championship since 1977.
• Since the tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1999, Texas is 14-1 in the round of 64 and 9-5 in the round of 32.

Series info
• Texas and Marist will meet for the second time during Friday's first-round match. The only other meeting between the Longhorns and Red Foxes also came in the first round of the NCAA Championship in Austin, with UT winning a 7-0 decision on May 14, 1999.
• Mississippi State leads the series with UT, 3-1. The last meeting between the Bulldogs and Longhorns dates back to 1996.
• Texas leads the series with Louisiana, 7-0. The last meeting between the Ragin' Cajuns and Longhorns was 1999.
Farewell to Penick-Allison Tennis Center
• Friday and Saturday will mark the final tennis matches played at the 28-year-old Penick-Allison Tennis Center.
• UT Austin's new Dell Medical School campus will displace Penick-Allison Tennis Center in June.
• Penick-Allison Tennis Center is named for Dr. D.A. Penick and Wilmer Allison, Dr. Penick's leading prodigy. Named head coach at UT in 1912 after a long career as a top player, Dr. Penick guided Texas to numerous Southwest Conference titles and was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in recognition of his achievements and contributions to the sport.
• A new outdoor tennis center, currently in the planning stages (near 51st and Guadalupe streets), will provide world-class facilities and resources for both the men's and women's tennis programs, while enabling UT to continue to host conference, national and international competitions.

Texas shines in All-Big 12 honors
• Junior Søren Hess-Olesen was named Big 12 Player of the Year and Michael Center was named Big 12 co-Coach of the Year, in a vote by the league's coaches released on Tuesday, May 6.
• Hess-Olesen and junior Lloyd Glasspool earned All-Big 12 honors in singles and in doubles as a duo. Hess-Olesen has been named to the All-Big 12 singles team three times and Glasspool has been named All-Big 12 in singles twice. It is the first All-Big 12 doubles honor for the duo.
• Center earned his fourth Big 12 Coach of the Year honor after leading the ninth-ranked Longhorns to a share of the league's regular season crown and back to the national top-10 for the first time since 2012. The Longhorns went 7-3 against top-25 opponents en route to the program's seventh Big 12 title.
• Hess-Olesen is the fourth Longhorn to earn Big 12 Player of the Year honors and the first since 2010 (Dimitar Kutrovsky). Hess-Olesen (25-6, 16-2 dual match play) went a perfect 5-0 in Big 12 play at the No. 1 singles position to become the first Longhorn in program history to win the Big 12 regular season crown at the top singles position.
Glasspool and Hess-Olesen headed to Athens
• Søren Hess-Olesen and Lloyd Glasspool earned at-large berths in the NCAA doubles draw as a team and the NCAA singles draw as individuals.
• It is Hess-Olesen's second consecutive bid in the NCAA singles draw after advancing to the quarterfinals of last season's competition.
• Glasspool will make his first career appearance in the NCAA singles draw.
• As a doubles team, the 16th-ranked Glasspool and Hess-Olesen will make their first appearance in NCAA postseason play. The duo feature nine wins over ranked opponents this season, including an 8-7 victory over then-No. 3 Junior Ore and Jackson Withrow (Texas A&M) to win the USTA/ITA Texas Regional title in October.
• Glasspool and Hess-Olesen are one of five NCAA doubles teams with both players also competing in the NCAA singles draw.
• The singles (field of 64) and doubles (field of 32) competition will be conducted May 21-26 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Georgia, following the conclusion of the team championship, which runs from May 15-20.
• All matches will be the best-of-three sets. Regular scoring and a 12-point tiebreaker at six-games-all will be used for all matches. The tournament draw wills be released just prior to the championships.
Four honored on Academic All-Big 12 team
• Senior Sudanwa Sitaram, junior Søren Hess-Olesen, junior Jacoby Lewis and sophomore Nick Naumann were named First Team Academic All-Big 12 on Tuesday, April 22.
• Sitaram earns first-team honors for the third consecutive year and Hess-Olesen repeats as a first-team honoree. It is the first Academic All-Big 12 honor for both Lewis and Naumann.
• First-team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 GPA or better. A total of 17 Big 12 Men's Tennis student-athletes earned first-team recognition.
Hess-Olesen and Naumann pick up individual Big 12 titles
• Junior Søren Hess-Olesen (No. 1 singles) and sophomore Nick Naumann (No. 5 singles) both went undefeated as individuals during conference play to capture Big 12 regular season titles at their respective singles positions. The final Big 12 individual standings were released by the conference on April 22.
• No. 15 Hess-Olesen held a 5-0 mark at No. 1 singles during Big 12 play -- all against nationally ranked opponents. Hess-Olesen is 16-2 during dual match play and has won seven consecutive contests. The Denmark native is a two-time Big 12 Player of the Week this season.
• Hess-Olesen is the first Longhorn to win a Big 12 regular season title at No. 1 singles.
• Naumann finished the regular season with a 5-0 record at No. 5 singles. The Woodland, Texas native has a team-high 19 wins during dual match play and is riding an eight-match winning streak into the postseason. Naumann is the fifth Longhorn to win the Big 12 title at No. 5 singles and the first since Josh Zavala in 2010.
• Lloyd Glasspool earned the Big 12 title at No. 2 singles last season and Sudanwa Sitaram was the best at his No. 3 singles position in 2012.
Singles summary
• During dual match play this season, Texas holds a combined 96-39 (.711) record in singles competition. The Longhorns boast three nationally ranked players and five players with 10 or more wins during dual match play.
• No. 15 Søren Hess-Olesen leads the Big 12 at the No. 1 singles position with a 5-0 record against league opponents. Hess-Olesen is 16-2 during dual match play with 12 wins over nationally ranked opponents.
• Sophomore Nick Naumann (25-7, 19-3 dual) leads the team in wins during dual match play. Naumann enters postseason play on an eight-match winning streak.
• Junior Clement Homs boasts a 12-3 record in dual match play, including a 10-3 mark at No. 6 singles. Homs maintained a 13-match singles winning streak from Oct. 27, 2013 to April 5, 2014.
• Junior Adrien Berkowicz leads the team in overall singles wins (26-9, 16-6 dual).
Doubles summary
• When Texas wins the doubles point in a dual match, the Longhorns are 13-2. The Longhorns enter the weekend with a combined 32-27 (.542) doubles record this spring.
• No. 16 Lloyd Glasspool and Søren Hess-Olesen (21-12, 10-10 dual) account for nine of UT's 11 wins over nationally-ranked doubles teams.
• Adrien Berkowicz and George Goldhoff (7-4, 7-3 dual) have won eight of their last 11 matches as a duo and are slated in the No. 2 doubles position.

• 2014 Big 12 co-Coach of the Year Michael Center is in his 14th season at Texas (281-101 record) and 23rd season overall as a tennis head coach (440-169 record).
• Center has guided Texas to three appearances in the NCAA Final Four (2006, 2008, 2009) and one appearance in the NCAA Championship title match (2008).
• Center has held head coaching positions at TCU (1998-2000) and his alma mater Kansas (1989-96).
• Awards: USPTA National Coach of the Year (2007); Big 12 Conference Coach of the Year (2002, 2006, 2010, 2014); ITA Regional Coach of the Year (2006, 2010)
