- A quick check of the most recent Big 12 Conference standings shows something very interesting (see page five of this note package for full standings). Texas, picked to finish sixth in the league during the preseason, currently sits second in the league just three points behind No. 2 West Virginia. Each team has two matches remaining, so if WVU were to lose one of their last two contests against either Oklahoma State or Baylor and the Longhorns were to sweep this weekend against Oklahoma and Baylor, Texas would share the Big 12 regular-season championship with the Mountaineers.
- Texas head coach Angela Kelly is within sight of a significant career milestone as the fourth-year skipper needs just TWO WINS to reach the 200-victory plateau and could reach that mark as early as Sunday with victories over Oklahoma and Baylor. Kelly now owns an overall mark of 198-111-32 in her 16th-year combined as a head coach at Tennessee and now on the Forty Acres.
- With 29 shutouts and counting over her illustrious career on the Forty Acres, senior goalkeeper Abby Smith is closing in on breaking the Texas career record for blankings. The Plano, Texas, native needs just ONE MORE to top former Longhorns net minder Dianna Pfenninger's mark of 29 shutouts established from 2005-08.
- Texas enters this weekend with a 13-7-1 all-time mark against Oklahoma (7-1-1 at home), having won each of the last five meetings between the two squads. UT is 11-7-3 against Baylor (6-2-2 at home) and owns victories in each of the last two match-ups.
- With its win at No. 17 Texas Tech on Oct. 16, Texas has now beaten two ranked teams in a single season for the first time since 2010 and two rated squads on the road for the first time since 2002.
- Junior forward Jasmine Hart's match-winner at 109:39 to beat No. 17 Texas Tech (Oct. 16) marked the fifth-latest match-winning goal for the Longhorns in program history and the LATEST to win a match since the collegiate overtime rules were altered to two 10-minute "sudden victory" OT periods prior to the start of the 2002 season.
- Texas has been terrific in close matches during the 2015 campaign, holding a perfect 6-0-0 mark in one-goal contests. The Longhorns already own victories in such instances this season over Miami (FL) (1-0), No. 14 UCLA (2-1), Abilene Christian (2-1), Kansas (2-1), Iowa State (2-1) and No. 17 Texas Tech (2-1, 2OT).
- Texas' big win at No. 17 Texas Tech certainly caught the eye of a few more poll voters as the Longhorns picked up a season-high 20 total points in the Oct. 20th release of the NSCAA coaches poll. UT's previous high was 13 points in the Sept. 8th release after beating No. 14 UCLA in Los Angeles, Calif.
- Texas is currently riding a season-best five-match unbeaten streak, stretching from a 2-1 victory at Kansas (Oct. 2) through last Friday's 2-1 (2OT) road upset win at No. 17 Texas Tech (Oct. 16). This is the second time UT has been unbeaten over at least four matches this season. A previous four-match unbeaten skein stretching from Sept. 6 at No. 14 UCLA through a 0-0 (2OT) tie against Little Rock ended during a 2-0 loss at No. 5 West Virginia (Sept. 25). TEXAS IS NOW TRENDING UPWARDS AS THE LONGHORNS ARE NOW 6-1-3 OVER THEIR LAST 10 MATCHES!
