RESULTS
AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas Men's Tennis improved to 11-1 on the season with its fourth consecutive win over a top-25 opponent on Sunday at the Weller Indoor Tennis Center. The Longhorns defeated No. 12 Wake Forest, 4-3.
Texas dropped the doubles point, but recovered to clinch the match after winning four straight IN singles competition. Wake Forest (8-3) won the remaining two singles matches, both of which ended in a tiebreaker, for a final team score of 4-3.
Fourth-ranked senior Søren Hess-Olesen continued his dominance this season with a straight-set dismantling of 21st-ranked Romain Bogaerts, 6-3, 6-2. The Denmark native has won 14 consecutive matches and improves to 12-0 in dual match play.
No. 41 senior Lloyd Glasspool, junior Nick Naumann and freshman John Mee won their respective singles matches in three sets to preserve the Texas victory.
Glasspool defeated Skander Mansouri at No. 2 singles, 6-7, 7-5, 6-2, for his eighth consecutive win. Naumann improved to 7-3 in dual match play by defeating Maksim Kan at No. 5 singles, 4-6, 7-5, 6-0. Mee improved to 4-1 when play at the No. 6 singles position this season after defeating Christian Seraphim, 3-6, 6-1, 6-3.
Texas returns to action in an outdoor match against UTSA on Wednesday (4 p.m. Central) at the Caswell Tennis Center, located near the intersection of 24th Street and Lamar Boulevard in Austin.
