MORE ON THE LONGHORNS
Head coach Danielle Lund McNamara officially took over the Longhorns program after the fall season, and the first-year head coach hired former UCLA All-American Courtney Dolehide as an assistant coach in January. The coaching tandem made its debut with the Longhorns at the Miami Spring Invite (Jan. 16-18), where Texas collected nine singles and doubles wins.
Headed by two-time All-American Breaunna Addison, Texas returns five of six regular singles starters from the 2013-14 team that reached the round of 32 at the NCAA Championships.
With 59 singles wins in her first two seasons, Addison returns for her junior season as the reigning Big 12 Player of the Year. The Boca Raton, Florida, native nailed down her second consecutive All-America honor last spring by way of her national ranking and her two singles wins at the NCAA Championships.
Sophomore Ratnika Batra posted an 8-1 mark in conference play last season as a true freshman. Classmates Neda Koprcina and Pippa Horn won Big 12 singles titles as freshmen last season at Nos. 4 and 5 singles, respectively.
UT also returns former Big 12 Freshman of the Year Lina Padegimaite and junior Lana Groenvynck. UT welcomes a pair of newcomers in the form of Ryann Foster (Sunrise, Fla.) and Danielle Wagland (Sydney, Australia). The freshman tandem posted key singles wins in the Horns' dual-match wins over DePaul and Rice.
