During the 2015 season, 10 freshmen started a total of 71 games for the Texas Longhorns.
The future is bright at Texas with 14 starters (seven offense/seven defense) and 18 more members of the two-deep returning in 2016.
Two more Freshman All-America honors came this week with LB Malik Jefferson and OT Connor Williams receiving those honors from the Football Writers Association of America. Add in OG Patrick Vahe for a total of three Longhorns tabbed Freshman All-America in 2015, all true freshman. Williams and Vahe also combined to form the only true freshman starting duo on an offensive line in the nation.
Jefferson, who was second on the team in tackles last year, was also named Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year, while fellow true freshmen CB Davante Davis, P Michael Dickson and CB Holton Hill were tabbed honorable mention All-Big 12. WR John Burt started every game and led UT in receiving yards and yards per reception, while RB Chris Warren set a UT freshman record with 276 yards and four TDs versus Texas Tech. All totaled, 17 members of Texas' 2015 23-member signing class played last season with nine of them starting 62 games. Including redshirt freshmen, 11 total freshmen started 78 games.
As national signing day approaches on February 3rd, this is a look back at the impact of Texas' past two classes.
