No. 21 Men's Tennis sweeps doubleheader against UTSA

Longhorns resume conference play Tuesday evening at Baylor.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 21 Texas (15-6) swept a day-night doubleheader over visiting UTSA Saturday at Polo Tennis Club. The Longhorns dealt the Roadrunners a 5-2 defeat in the afternoon match before sweeping UTSA by a 4-0 count in the evening match.
In the afternoon match, Texas claimed a pair of doubles decisions to assume the doubles point before collecting straight-sets singles wins from Harrison Scott, Rodrigo Banzer and Colin Markes to clinch the team win.
UT picked up an additional win from William Jou, as the Longhorns put away the Roadrunners in the first match, 5-2.
In the nightcap, Texas yielded only one game in doubles wins at the first and second positions. Adrian Ortiz, John Mee and Johnny Goodwin closed the evening victory with straight-sets wins at the second, fourth and sixth singles positions.
Texas resumes Big 12 Conference play Tuesday evening at Baylor.

It was a full day of tennis, but I thought it was a good day. Everybody got a chance to play today, and it was a beautiful day out here. UTSA did a good job. We want to get familiar with these courts and the surroundings, and we've got some conference matches coming up here. We're 0-0 now starting into a very difficult conference schedule, so we're excited. We'll play Baylor on Tuesday and we'll just keep going one at a time.
