AUSTIN, Texas – Sophomore Doug Ghim was selected to represent Team USA on the Arnold Palmer Cup team, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Friday.
Ghim will join nine members of Team USA and 10 players representing Europe.
The annual Ryder Cup-style competition will be played June 24-26 at Formby Golf Club in Formby, England.
Coastal Georgia's Mike Cook will serve as the USA's head coach, while Florida's John Handrigan will be the team's assistant coach.
Ghim is coming off an impressive 2015-16 season, finishing in the top-eight seven times, including a season-low tie for second at the NCAA Regional in May. He shot 23 of his 40 rounds at or under par and fired eight rounds in the 60s.
He finished with the team's second-best stroke average at 71.28 and concluded the season on a strong note with wins in all of his matches at the NCAA Championship.
