Junior Gavin Hall and sophomore Doug Ghim earn All-America honors for the second-straight year.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas men's golfers Gavin Hall and Doug Ghim have earned PING Division I All-America Second Team honors, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Thursday.
It marks the second honor for both players after they received honorable mention accolades in 2015.
Hall finished his junior campaign with two medalist honors, winning the John A. Burns Intercollegiate in February and The Maxwell in April. He finished in the top-10 five additional times, including a third-place finish at the Lamkin Classic and ties for sixth at the Big 12 Championship and the NCAA Regional.
Hall was also named a Golfweek Second Team All-American, a Jack Nicklaus Award semifinalist, an All-Big 12 selection and to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team in 2016.
Ghim concluded his sophomore season with a 71.28 stroke average and seven top-10 finishes. His lowest finish of the season came at the NCAA Regional in May, where he tied for second after carding all three rounds in the 60s. He also tied for third at the Valspar Collegiate and tied for fourth at the Big 12 Championship. He wrapped up the season with three wins in all three matches during NCAA Championship match play.
Ghim was also named a Golfweek Second Team All-American, a Jack Nicklaus Award semifinalist, an All-Big 12 selection and was picked to represent the United States in the 2016 Palmer Cup.
Hall and Ghim join junior Beau Hossler, who was selected to the PING All-America First Team on May 31.
