Schubert becomes the first person in school history to earn the honor twice in the same season.
Senior Texas golfer Sophia Schubert has been named the Big 12 Golfer of the Month for November, the league office in Irving, Texas, announced Wednesday. Schubert, who also earned the honor in October, becomes the first golfer in program history to be named Big 12 Golfer of the Month twice in the same season.
Schubert shares the November Big 12 honors with Oklahoma's Hannah Wood, with whom she tied for fourth place at the Battle of the Beach last month in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
The Battle of the Beach was Texas' only event of November and Schubert recorded a four-under-par three-round total of 209 (70-68-71). She helped direct the Longhorns to a third-place finish as a team, marking Texas' fourth top-five team finish in five events this fall.
Schubert led the tournament field at the Battle at the Beach with 41 total pars. In all, 50 of her 54 holes in the event were at par or better. Her 209 tied for the fifth-best 54-hole total in program history and was her best tournament total of the 2017-18 season.
Schubert has finished among the top-10 individually in each of the three tournaments in which she has competed this season. She is currently ranked No. 5 in the Golfweek Women's Collegiate Individual Rankings and is No. 19 in the world, according to the Women's Amateur Golf Ranking.
Schubert is ranked No. 4 in the Arnold Palmer Cup fall rankings and was selected to participate in the Curtis Cup practice session. Schubert, the 2017 U.S. Women's Amateur Champion, is one of 10 collegiate golfers on the latest Watch List for the ANNIKA Award, which honors the Player of the Year in women's college golf.
