Longhorns vie for 20th win of the season for fourth consecutive year.

AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 11/10 University of Texas women's basketball team looks to post its fourth consecutive 20-win season on Saturday when the Longhorns play host to Kansas presented by St. David's HealthCare. Tip-off in the Frank Erwin Center is slated for 1:30 p.m. CT and the game will be televised nationally by Longhorn Network.
Texas looks to reach the 20-win milestone for the 34th time in the program's 43 seasons.
Longhorn Network will air a half-hour Texas GameDay show beginning at 1 p.m. CT and leading up to the 1:30 p.m. CT tip. Smokey and Bevo XV will be on the North Plaza prior to the game for fan photo opportunities as part of Texas Traditions Day. The first 100 UT students entering through the E Doors will get a free Angry Bevo pocket t-shirt.
The Georgettes, a dance troupe of 21 performers from Sun City, will perform at midcourt at the end of the first quarter. Several mascots will compete in an Olympics-style competition at halftime. Prior to the start of the game, senior Kelsey Lang and junior Brooke McCarty will each be recognized for reaching the 1,000-career points milestone.
The Longhorns (19-4, 13-0 Big 12 Conference) boast the nation's second-longest active win streak at 17 games. That streak ranks second nationally to UConn's 98-game active win streak. Texas also is 13-0 to start Big 12 Conference play for the first time in program history.
Texas is 58-6 (.906) at home since the start of the 2013-14 season and is 29-2 (.935) inside the Frank Erwin Center over the past two seasons. The Longhorns' only two home losses in the past two seasons have come to foes ranked among the top-six in the Associated Press poll.
McCarty leads the Longhorns in scoring, averaging 14.2 points per game, which ranks 11th in the Big 12 Conference. McCarty ranks second in the Big 12 in both three-point field goal percentage (.443) and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.5). She is her team's assists leader with 3.7 dishes per game.
Junior guard Ariel Atkins follows with 13.5 points per game, which ranks 15th in the Big 12. She also is fourth in the league in steals per game at 2.0. Freshman guard/forward Joyner Holmes has won the Big 12 Freshman of the Week honor on four occasions this season, including three consecutive weeks. She averages 12.4 points per game, 7.8 rebounds per game and 1.3 blocks per game. Holmes ranks first among Big 12 freshmen in both scoring and rebounding.
Lang ranks third in the Big 12 Conference in rebounding with 8.4 boards per game and is second in blocks per game with 2.3 rejections per game. Lang has seven double-doubles on the year and also adds 9.8 points per game.
Texas and Kansas are meeting for the 34th time in the history of the two programs. The Longhorns lead the all-time series 23-10. Texas has won nine consecutive meetings in the all-time series with Kansas, including a 66-54 victory in Lawrence on Jan. 4.
Kansas enters Saturday's game with an 8-16 overall record and a 2-11 mark in Big 12 play. The Jayhawks, who are coming off a 67-49 win against Oklahoma State on Wednesday night, are averaging 13.8 offensive rebounds per game, which ranks third in the Big 12 Conference. Junior Jessica Washington ranks third in the Big 12 Conference in scoring, averaging 16.8 points per game.

• Texas women's basketball is in the midst of its 43rd season of intercollegiate basketball.
• The Longhorns have won 12 conference regular season titles and 10 conference tournament titles.
• Texas is one of just eight programs in NCAA Division I women's basketball history to reach 1,000 all-time wins. The Longhorns achieved the milestone on January 27, 2016. Texas ranks fifth all-time in NCAA history with 1,031 all-time victories.
• The Longhorns consistently play a rigorous non-conference schedule. The Longhorns' schedule consists of six non-conference opponents that advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 or further during the 2015-16 campaign. They will conclude that slate on Monday against No. 5/4 Florida State.
• Texas head coach Karen Aston is 108-50 (.684) in her fifth season at the helm of the Longhorns. She is the program's second-winningest coach in UT history behind Jody Conradt's 783 victories on the Forty Acres.
• Since the start of the 2013-14 season, Texas is 58-6 (.906) when playing in the Frank Erwin Center. The Longhorns are 29-2 (.935) at home over the past two seasons.
• Texas has won 17 consecutive games, which is the nation's second-longest active winning streak.
• With Monday's win against Baylor, the Longhorns set the school record for most consecutive Big 12 Conference victories at 13.
• Texas has won the rebound battle in 21 of its 23 games so far this season and holds a rebound margin of +10.7. The Longhorns rank eighth nationally in rebound margin.
• The Longhorns rank 18th nationally in blocked shots per game with 5.4 blocks per game.
• Over the past two seasons, Texas is 11-9 (.550) against foes ranked in the Associated Press Top-25, including a 4-4 mark this season.
• Senior center Kelsey Lang has played in 127 games in her UT career. She needs to play in six more games to move into the all-time Texas top-10 list in career games played. She recently became the 41st member of the school's all-time 1,000-point club and has 1,003 career points at UT.
• Lang currently ranks seventh in UT school history with 163 career blocks.
• Junior guard Brooke McCarty has 158 career three-pointers made, which ranks seventh all-time in UT history.
• McCarty ranks fourth in school history in three-point field goal percentage with a .403 clip (158-of-392). Current Texas assistant Jamie Carey holds the school record in three-point field goal percentage at .418.
• McCarty eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau in her last outing and became the 42nd player in school history to do so. She has 1,000 career points.
