Notes:
• No. 6 Texas is coming off its home opener, hosting the American Campus Classic on September 7 and 8. The Longhorns swept Texas A&M Corpus Chrisi and Denver before falling to No. 1 Minnesota, 1-3. Freshman Lexi Sun led UT over the weekend with 43 kills (4.78/set), hitting at a .330 clip. Senior Chiaka Ogbogu led in blocks with 14 (1.40/set), while senior Cat McCoy led in digs with 43 (4.30/set). Sun and McCoy were voted to the All-Tournament team by the coaches of all four programs.
• McCoy is averaging 4.00 digs/set with 108 digs through eight matches. In her career, she has 1,446 digs, the fourth-most all time behind Demetria Sance (1,614), Alyson Jennings (1,551), and Janine Gremmel (1,541). She is 168 digs behind the all-time leader in Texas Volleyball history, Sance.
• Freshman Lexi Sun earned Big 12 Freshman of the Week honors for the second-straight week after posting 43 kills (4.78/set) on 91 attacks, only committing 13 errors for a .330 hitting percentage over the week. She also added two service aces, 24 digs, and seven blocks.
• Senior Cat McCoy posted 43 digs in three matches (4.30), 14 assists (1.40), and three aces. She joined Sun on the American Campus Classic All-Tournament Team, voted on by the coaches of the participating teams.
TEXAS vs. TEXAS A&M
• Texas' two true road matches of the season so far have been against opponents, supported by the largest and second-largest crowds in respective program history, against No. 15 San Diego (4,222) and No. 12 Florida (7,523). The average home attendance for Texas A&M against ranked opponents has been 1,799.
• Texas A&M is coming off of two consecutive home matches against ranked opponents at College Station (0-2). The Aggies faced a high level of competition in taking No. 5 Penn State to five sets and in was swept by No. 1 Stanford.
