Bianca Turati advances in singles qualifying draw at ITF Tyler (Texas) pro event

Junior All-American records straight-set victory in first round of singles qualifying on Sunday morning.
TYLER, Texas — University of Texas junior Bianca Turati registered a 6-2, 6-4 victory against Tamara Arnold (Switzerland) on Sunday in the first round of singles qualifying at the ITF (International Tennis Federation) pro circuit 80k event at the Tyler Athletic and Swim Club. Turati advances to the second round of qualifying on Monday, Oct. 29.
Turati entered the Tyler event at No. 492 in the latest WTA (Women's Tennis Association) world singles rankings. She must win three qualifying-round matches to advance to the tournament's 32-player main draw.
Earlier this fall, Turati won the ITF pro circuit singles championship at the 15k tournament at Hilton Head Island, S.C. (Sept. 30). It marked her third ITF pro circuit singles title this year. She previously claimed back-to-back singles titles in August at the 15k events in Biella, Italy and Sezze, Italy.
