LUBBOCK, Texas — Sam Ehlinger found Lil'Jordan Humphrey for a 29-yard touchdown with 21 seconds left to send The University of Texas (7-3, 5-2) home a winner, 41-34, over Texas Tech (5-5, 3-4) on Saturday night at Jones AT&T Stadium. Ehlinger passed for 312 yards and found both Humphrey and Devin Duvernay for two touchdowns apiece on his way to a career-high four touchdown passes in the victory. The Red Raiders tied the game with 1:45 to play after 24 fourth-quarter points, before Ehlinger engineered a 7-play, 75-yard, game-winning drive.

KEY STATISTICS

Texas Tech scored on an efficient touchdown drive to open the game, and forced the Longhorns to a punt on their first possession.
On TTU's second drive of the game, they went down the field, but Davante Davis intercepted a Jett Duffey errant throw at the goal line and the Longhorns would capitalize with a 52-yard field goal by Cameron Dicker to cut the lead to 7-3, early in the second quarter.
After the field goal, the UT defense forced a three-and-out of the Red Raiders, as Caden Sterns broke up a pass to force a punt.
Sam Ehlinger would lead an 18-play, 60-yard drive taking 8:10 off the clock, connecting with Lil'Jordan Humphrey for a score and the 10-7 lead.
On the ensuing possession, TTU went for it in UT territory on fourth down and was stuffed by the Horns, who then converted that into a quick, 4-play touchdown drive to increase the lead to 17-7 with Keaontay Ingram punching in the score.
Texas Tech would drive the field and kick a field goal at the end of the half, but the Longhorns went into the locker room with a 17-10 lead.
Coming out of the half, the Horns got the ball first and methodically went down the field. On 4th-and-goal at the TTU 1, Ehlinger found Devin Duvernay for a touchdown and a 14-point lead.
As Tech tried to respond, driving the field, Davante Davis forced a fumble and pounced on it to give the ball back to the Longhorns.
The Longhorns would extend their lead to 17 points, at 27-10, as Cameron Dicker converted a 46-yard field goal following the Red Raiders' turnover.
Kris Boyd would capitalize on more Texas Tech carelessness with the ball late in the third quarter. As QB Jett Duffey ran into the red zone, Boyd stripped the ball for UT's third forced turnover of the night. UT led 27-10 at the end of three quarters.
After a TTU touchdown closed the gap to just 10 points, Ehlinger found Duvernay for a 39-yard touchdown, their second scoring connection of the night, to push the lead back to 17.
Texas Tech would cut the game to a 14-point Texas lead with six and a half minutes left on a field goal, and then would get the ball back with a successful onside kick.
The Red Raiders went down the field after the onside kick for a touchdown and then forced the Longhorns into a three-and-out.
Texas Tech's drive began at its own 17 with 3:09 to play, tying the game with a scoring drive of 5 plays, 77 yards in 1:24.
The Longhorns began their drive with 1:45 to play and all three timeouts. Sam Ehlinger found Lil'Jordan Humphrey for a 29-yard touchdown grab to cap off the scoring drive, giving UT a 41-34 lead with 21 seconds to play.
