No. 2 Women's Golf tied for third after 36 holes at Battle at the Beach

CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico – Junior Greta Isabella Voelker carded a squad-best even-par 71 on Saturday and the No. 2 Longhorns are tied for third place following 36 holes at the Battle at the Beach, played at Club Campestre San Jose Golf Club.
No. 22 Auburn leads the field with a three-under-par two-round total of 565 [287-278]. No. 5 Vanderbilt is in second place with a seven-over-par 575 [298-277]. Texas [292-289] and No. 23 Clemson [307-274] are tied for third with 13-over-par 581s.
Through the first two rounds at the Battle at the Beach, the Longhorns have recorded 119 pars, which is the most of any team in the tournament field.
Freshman Hailee Cooper is tied for fifth in the individual standings at even-par and is four strokes off the lead held by Auburn's Kaleigh Telfer [-4].
A LOOK AT THE LINEUP
- Cooper leads the Longhorns at even-par with a two-round total of 142 [70-72]. Her 30 pars over the first 36 holes leads all individuals in the field and she also has the best par-three scoring average on the weekend at 2.90, -1.
- Sophomore Kaitlyn Papp is tied for 17th with a four-over-par 146 [71-75].
- Sophomore Agathe Laisne [74-74] and Voelker [77-71] are both tied for 32nd with six-over-par 148s. Voelker had the best round of any Longhorn on Saturday. Her 71 tied for her best round of the 2018-19 season.
- Junior Emilee Hoffman is tied for 37th with a seven-over-par 149 [77-72].
- Senior Maddie Luitwieler, competing as an individual, is tied for 51st overall with a 10-over-par 152 [71-81].
