• The Longhorns come into the game with a 6-3 overall record and 4-2 mark in Big 12 Conference play. After winning its first four conference games, UT has lost back-to-back games by a combined total of four points entering this weekend's matchup with the Red Raiders.
• Texas Tech comes in with a record of 5-4 overall and 3-3 in the Big 12. The Red Raiders had won five of six prior to losing their last two games. TTU lost at home this past weekend to Oklahoma, 51-46, a week after losing 40-31 on the road at Iowa State.
• Despite back-to-back losses, the Longhorns remain in the national polls for the seventh consecutive week. UT remains 15th in the AP poll and is 19th in the Coaches Poll. UT was last ranked for seven consecutive weeks at the beginning of the 2012 season.
• The Longhorns' offense has registered nine straight games with at least 200 yards passing and 100 yards rushing. The only time in the last 20 seasons that a UT team has had a longer such streak was when the 2016 team produced 10 straight games of more than 200 yards through the air and 100 yards on the ground.
Taking Care Of The Ball
• Prior to a third-quarter interception against Baylor, Texas had gone 295 consecutive offensive plays without a turnover. Their last turnover had been in the third quarter of the USC game.
• UT has had four turnover-free games so far in 2018 (TCU, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State). Since 1996, UT has had just one season (2012) with more turnover-free games. The 2012 Longhorns had five games without a turnover.
• UT's lone turnover vs. WVU was on a last-play series of laterals.
Ehlinger Taking Care Of The Ball
• Sophomore QB Sam Ehlinger has attempted a school-record 246 straight passes without throwing an interception. Ehlinger's last interception came on his final pass attempt in the season opener at Maryland.
• West Virginia's Geno Smith owns the Big 12 record with 273 consecutive pass attempts without an interception.
• Louisiana Tech's Colby Cameron owns the NCAA FBS record with 444 consecutive pass attempts without throwing an interception.
The #RevolUTion18
• Fourteen true freshmen have played so far this season: P Ryan Bujcevski (9 games), DL Keondre Coburn (1), DB Anthony Cook (9), K Cameron Dicker (9), WR Brennan Eagles (6), DB B.J. Foster (8), DB Jalen Green (6), RB Keaontay Ingram (8), WR D'Shawn Jamison (9), WR Joshua Moore (6), DL Moro Ojomo (1), DB DeMarvion Overshown (8) and DB Caden Sterns (9).
Ehlinger By The Numbers
• True sophomore Sam Ehlinger had one of his best games as a Longhorn Saturday against West Virginia, completing 25-of-36 passes for 354 yards and a career-high three touchdowns. He also rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown.
• His 354 passing yards were the second most in his career, 16th-most in school history and most ever by a Longhorn against West Virginia.
• Ehlinger has completed 183-of-285 passes for 2,171 yards (19th in school history) and 16 touchdowns this season. He has also rushed for 329 yards and nine scores.
• Ehlinger has thrown just two interceptions, and has currently attempted 246 consecutive passes without an INT.
• He reached 2,000 yards in nine games this season, tied for the fifth-fastest to do so in school history.
• Ehlinger became the 10th Longhorn to eclipse 4,000 career passing yards in Saturday's game. He currently sits 10th with 4,086 career passing yards. His 27 career touchdown passes are ninth-most in school history.
• He has totaled 2,500 yards (2,171 pass/329 rush) this season, just 171 yards shy of the Top 12 in UT history. Only eight QBs have ever eclipsed 3,000 yards of total offense in a season. For Ehlinger's career, he currently ranks 11th in school history with 4,800 yards (4,086 pass/714 rush) of total offense.
Two-Headed Monster versus WVU
• Junior wide receivers Lil'Jordan Humphrey and Devin Duvernay both had career games against West Virginia on Saturday.
• Humphrey caught nine passes for a career-best 143 yards and a touchdown, while Duvernay caught six passes for a career-high 100 yards and a touchdown.
• The duo became the 15th in school history, and first since Mike Davis and Jaxon Shipley in 2013, to each record at least 100 receiving yards in the same game.
Duvernay Closing In On 1,000
• Following Saturday's game against WVU, Devin Duvernay has 56 career receptions for 873 yards and five touchdowns.
• He is just 127 yards shy of reaching 1,000 career receiving yards. He would be the Longhorns' third active receiver to do so.
The Other Two-Headed Monster
• Junior wide receivers Lil'Jordan Humphrey and Collin Johnson have combined for 105 receptions, 1,463 yards and 10 touchdowns so far this season.
• Forty FBS teams have at least one receiver with 50-plus catches so far this season, but Texas is one of just seven to have two receivers with 50-or-more catches.
• The seven schools are TEXAS, Ball State, Hawaii, Nebraska, NC State, Ohio State and Washington State.
• Humphrey (55) and Johnson (50) became just the eighth WR duo in school history to both eclipse the 50-catch mark in the same season (also 1998, 1999, 2007, 2008, 2012, 2013, 2014). A UT player has had 50 catches in a season just 26 times in school history.
O-Line Continuity A Key
• After missing a combined 36 games along the offensive line in 2017, UT's starting offensive linemen have missed just three combined games so far in 2018.
• In 2017, UT was forced to use nine different starting offensive line combinations in 13 games. So far in 2018, UT has used just three different starting combinations, including the same one for each of the last four weeks.
• LT Calvin Anderson, LG Patrick Vahe and RG/C Elijah Rodriguez have each started all nine games thus far.
• That continuity, mixed with the return of tight end Andrew Beck, who missed the entire 2017 season, has led to increased offensive productivity in 2018.
• UT's offense is averaging 421.7 ypg (155.3 rush/266.3 pass) and has allowed just 12 sacks. Last season, for comparison, UT averaged 398.5 ypg (139.6 rush/258.8 pass) and allowed 34 sacks.
