No. 6 Women's Golf in third following two rounds of Silverado Showdown

Sophia Schubert and Kaitlyn Papp each record sub-70 rounds on Monday.
NAPA, Calif. - Senior Sophia Schubert and freshman Kaitlyn Papp each fired sub-70 rounds on Monday to help the No. 6 Texas women's golf team move into a tie for third place following the first 36 holes of the Silverado Showdown at the Silverado Resort and Country Club.
Texas currently stands in a tie for third place with a six-over-par two-round total of 582 (295-287) and the Longhorns are seven strokes off the lead entering Tuesday's final round. No. 4 Stanford leads the tournament field with a one-under-par two-round total of 575 (294-281), while No. 8 Southern California is second with a one-over-par 577 (290-287). The Longhorns are tied with No. 1 UCLA (292-290). Texas, in the Silverado Showdown, is facing seven other teams that are ranked among the nation's top-20 teams.
As a team, the Longhorns lead the tournament field with the best scoring average on par-five holes at 4.78 (-9) and Texas is second among teams on par-three holes at 3.13 (+5).
Tuesday's final round play begins at 10 a.m. CT with a shotgun start. Live results will be available here.
Schubert's second-round 68 tied for the field's best individual round of the day on Monday. She is currently tied for fourth place overall with a four-under-par 140 (72-68). Schubert, who has posted top-10 individual finishes in each of her four outings this season, is two strokes off the individual lead held by Southern California's Jennifer Chang and Stanford's Mika Liu (138).
Papp carded a second-round 69 and sits in a tie for ninth place overall with a one-under-par 143 (74-69). She recorded her fourth bogey-free round of the season, finishing with three birdies and 15 pars, and it was her team-leading 15th round at par or better this season. Papp is tied for the tournament lead with 29 pars through the event's first 36 holes.
Sophomore Emilee Hoffman is tied for 24th place overall with a four-over-par 148 (75-73). Sophomore Greta Isabella Voelker, who is competing as an individual, is tied for 34th with a six-over-par 150 (72-78).
Freshman Agathe Laisne is tied for 60th with a nine-over-par 153 (74-79), while junior Maddie Luitwieler is tied for 66th with a 10-over-par 154 (77-77).
