AUSTIN, Texas—Texas Baseball junior second baseman Kody Clemens has been named one of three finalists for the 2018 Bobby Bragan Collegiate Slugger Award, given annually to a Division I baseball player in the state of Texas who excels at the plate, in academics and in personal integrity.
"We are extremely excited to name these outstanding young men as finalists for the Bobby Bragan Collegiate Slugger Award," said BBCSA executive director Tracy Taylor. "Each of these student-athletes had a great year at the plate and are even better representatives of their programs and schools."
Clemens, the Big 12 Conference Player of the Year, led the league in home runs (19, seventh nationally), total bases, and slugging percentage. The Longhorns team leader, Clemens is also a communications major.
Clemens joins Texas Tech's Josh Jung and Dallas Baptist's Devlin Granberg as the final three for the award.
The winner of the BBCSA will be announced in June and honored at a gala in the fall.
