LINCOLN, Neb.—No. 3 Texas defeated No. 7 Florida, 3-2 (25-18, 21-25, 21-25, 25-21,15-10) for its second-straight win over a ranked opponent at the VERT Challenge in Lincoln, Neb. on Saturday afternoon.
Junior Micaya White led the Longhorns with 17 kills, 15 digs, and four blocks.
Freshman Katarina Luketic also finished with double-digit kills with 14, also posting eight blocks.
Senior Morgan Johnson recorded a career-high mark with her match-high 11 blocks, also adding eight kills (.333), and one ace, while freshman Brionne Butler posted nine kills on 14 swings (.500), and nine blocks. Freshman Logan Eggleston
Freshman Sydney Petersen led Texas in digs with 19, Autumn Rounsaville added 10, and sophomore Ashley Shook contributed 14 to go along with 47 assists, five blocks, and three kills.
The Longhorns will hit the road again for another top-10 opponent to face No. 9 Wisconsin on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. in Madison, Wis.
