No. 6 Women's Golf in second entering final day of Schooner Fall Classic

All five Longhorns record rounds under par on Saturday.
NORMAN, Okla. - All five Texas golfers posted rounds under par on Saturday and the No. 6 Longhorns recorded a school-record 18-hole team total of 272 for the second consecutive day at the Schooner Fall Classic, contested at Belmar Golf Club in Norman, Okla.
Texas currently sits in second place entering the final day of the Schooner Fall Classic with a 24-under-par two-round total of 544 [272-272]. No. 3 Alabama holds a 10-stroke lead with a 34-under-par 534 [272-262].
Freshman Hailee Cooper carded a six-under-par 65 on Saturday to lead the way for Texas. Her 65 is just the sixth 18-hole score of 65 or better in program history. Cooper had a squad-best seven birdies on Saturday, contributing to the 23 that the Longhorns charted as a team.
Of the 10 individual rounds that the Longhorns have played so far this weekend, nine have been at par or better.
The 272 team totals that Texas has recorded each of the last two days mark the best 18-hole team scores in program history. They best the previous record of 273, accomplished in the final round of the 2014 Schooner Fall Classic.
A LOOK AT THE LINEUP
- Junior Emilee Hoffman is in fourth place overall following 36 holes with an eight-under-par two-round total of 134 [67-67]. Hoffman's six career collegiate rounds of 67 or better are the most of any golfer in program history. She has recorded a team-leading 10 birdies on the week, including five on Saturday.
- Cooper is tied for fifth with a seven-under-par 135 [70-65]. Her 65 is tied for the third-best 18-hole score in program history. Each of her five career collegiate rounds have been at par or better.
- Freshman Sára Kousková is tied for seventh with a six-under-par 136 [66-70]. Her par-five scoring [4.38, -5] through 36 holes is second-best among individuals in the field.
- Sophomore Kaitlyn Papp is tied for 16th with a three-under-par 139 [69-70]. Each of her five rounds this season have come at par or better. She has recorded a team-leading 27 pars this week to go along with six birdies.
- Sophomore Agathe Laisne is tied for 35th with a two-over-par 144 [74-70].
UP NEXT
The final round of the Schooner Fall Classic will begin with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. CT on Sunday. Texas will tee off beginning at 10:10 a.m. CT.
