- Sunday's match marks the first-ever meeting on the pitch between Texas and Houston Baptist.
- Texas' defense has cranked up the pressure over the last two matches, allowing just six combined shots over the last 180:00 of playing time against Stephen F. Austin and Texas State. In fact, in two of those four possible halves of play, the Longhorns haven't allowed a single shot - first half vs. SFA and the second half vs. TXST.
- After going just 2-8 during one-goal matches during the 2016 season, the Longhorns since have turned around their fortunes in such contests by going a remarkable 14-3 over their last 17 one-goal matches since beginning 2017 and are 3-0 in 2018.
- Texas has scored first in five of its six matches during the 2018 campaign, and the Longhorns have trailed for only 11:04 (against Texas State) out of 562:38 of match time so far this season. Texas has scored first in 21 of its last 27 total matches dating back to the start of 2017.
- Texas has won its last 13 non-conference home matches, dating back to a 1-0 defeat against No. 19 California on Sept. 4, 2016, and 13 of its last 15 home contests overall (13-1-1).
- The Longhorns have won their last nine September matches in a row dating back to a 2-1 (2OT) loss to Oklahoma State on Sept. 30, 2016.
- Texas began the new season at No. 17 in the preseason United Soccer Coaches poll released on Aug. 7. The preseason ranking marked the first for the Burnt Orange & White since beginning the 2009 campaign at No. 15. On the strength of its unbeaten 5-0-1 start, UT has now climbed as high as No. 11 in the Soccer America, No. 12 in the Top Drawer Soccer and No. 18 in the United Soccer Coaches polls. Texas has now appeared in each of the last 14 United Soccer Coaches poll releases dating back to Sept. 12, 2017.
- UT freshman midfielder Julia Grosso recently earned her sixth career senior-level cap while playing 20 minutes as a sub for the Canadian Senior National Team during a 1-0 friendly victory over Brazil in Ottawa, Ontario, on Sept. 2.
- With her score at 61:48 against Long Beach State, freshman forward Mackenzie McFarland registered her first career goal and match-winner on her very first career shot. For her effort, the Coppell, Texas, native was honored as the Big 12 Conference's Freshman of the Week for Sept. 4.
- The Burnt Orange & White are a remarkable 6-2-4 in overtime matches combining the 2017 & 2018 seasons and have gone to at least one extra session in 12 of their last 21 contests.
- Junior goalkeeper Nicole Curry's career goals-against-average of 0.71 is currently the lowest mark in school history, 0.13 ahead of standout UT net minder Abby Smith's career GAA of 0.84 (2012-15).
- With her 93rd-minute "golden goal" vs. No. 23 UCF (Aug. 24), junior forward Cyera Hintzen registered her eighth career match-winning score. The Garland, Texas, native now owns eight match-winners over her 18 career goals, meaning that 44% of the time she's scored, it has been to win a contest.
- Junior forward Cyera Hintzen has scored in five of six Texas matches this year, currently rates first in the Big 12 with six goals in 2018, has equaled the school career record for "golden goals" with three and owns five career goals in the 82nd minute or later in a match (all five have been match-winners!).
- The Longhorns brought back some impressive production for 2018 as UT returned 97% of the goals (28-of-29), 90% of the assists (27-of-30), 94% of the total points (83-of-88) and all 11 shutouts between the pipes for the new campaign.
- Texas' defense is particularly stingy, having allowed more than two goals in a single match ONLY THREE TIMES OVER THE LONGHORNS' LAST 114 MATCHES (occurrences were at TCU on Oct. 17, 2014 & Oct. 28, 2016 and at Duke in NCAA Sweet 16 action on Nov. 19, 2017) and only twice over the last 69 matches. In fact, an opponent has scored more than two goals in a contest only six times since head coach Angela Kelly took over the program (three times during her first season on the Forty Acres in 2012).
