No. 4 Volleyball sweeps West Virginia

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The No. 4 Texas Volleyball team swept West Virginia, 25-13, 25-17, 26-24 on Saturday afternoon in Morgantown, W. Va., to move to 6-0 in Big 12 play and 12-2 on the season.
Freshman Asjia O'Neal was unstoppable on Saturday as the middle blocker put down eight kills on eight attempts for a perfect hitting percentage. She also added a season-best seven blocks, two aces and two digs.
Fellow freshman Skylar Fields powered the offense with 13 kills, hitting .522 with a career-best eight blocks.
Senior Micaya White joined Fields in the double figures with 10 kills. She also added eight digs and two blocks. Sophomore Brionne Butler tallied seven kills and five blocks.
Sophomore setter Jhenna Gabriel dished out 35 assists in three sets and added nine digs, one block and one kill.
As a team, the Longhorns tallied 12.5 blocks as a team.
Texas returns home on Wednesday evening to take on No. 1 Baylor at 7 p.m. in a sold-out Gregory Gym. Fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness. Three hundred and fifty (350) seats are being held for University of Texas students with the Big Ticket, and they are encouraged to arrive early to get a prime spot.
