- Texas leads its all-time series over Texas Tech by a total of 16-7-4, including 9-2-3 in Austin. UT has won the last three meetings at Mike A. Myers Stadium dating back to Sept. 26, 2014. In all, 13 of the last 14 match-ups between the two teams have either been settled by one goal or required overtime. TTU won last year's meeting on Oct. 25, 2018, in Lubbock, 1-0.
- Texas heads into Sunday's contest still very much alive in the race for the Big 12 regular-season title with just two league matches remaining. The Longhorns currently hold down the No. 2 spot with 15 points (can reach a maximum of 21 points), trailing only Oklahoma State (16 points). The Cowgirls only have two Big 12 contests remaining (at home versus Oklahoma & Baylor) and can achieve a maximum total of 22 points.
- With "Senior Day" scheduled for post-match on Sunday, let's take a quick look at some of what this year's class of five seniors and three redshirt juniors (Cyera Hintzen, Atu Mshana, Kyra Falcone, Nicole Curry, Emily Martin, Cydney Billups, Emma Jett and Tecora Turner) has accomplished over their careers:
- Guided Texas to 45 victories (an average of 11.3-per-season and counting)
- Led the Longhorns to back-to-back NCAA Tournament berths in 2017 & 2018
- Reached the NCAA Sweet 16 for only the fourth time in school history (2017)
- Helped equal the program marks for longest winning streak (11 matches) and unbeaten streak (13 matches) in 2017
- Cyera Hintzen became the program's third multiple-time All-American (2017 & 2018)
- Nicole Curry currently leads the program in all-time goals-against-average (0.76)
- After going just 2-8 in one-goal matches back in 2016, the Longhorns have since turned around their fortunes in such contests by going 24-11 in their last 35 one-goal matches since beginning 2017 (6-3 so far in 2019).
- The Longhorns have faced a tough schedule this season as 12-of-16 played opponents currently own winning records and seven of those opponents own nine-or-more victories (Oklahoma State, Kansas, Colorado, Monmouth, Gonzaga, Washington & TCU). According to the most recent NCAA strength of schedule rankings, Texas has played the 29th toughest slate in NCAA Division I.
- Texas has been perfect on the road in Big 12 play this season, going 3-0. The last time the Longhorns posted at least three league road wins in a single campaign was 2014. With one conference road contest remaining at Oklahoma on Oct. 31, UT has the opportunity to post its first perfect Big 12 road slate since going 5-0 back in 2006.
- Texas has spread the scoring around in a major way so far in 2019 as 11 DIFFERENT LONGHORNS have scored goals and 13 different players own points. Keep in mind that in 2018, the Burnt Orange & White had 10 different goal scorers over an entire 21-match season. The most players registering goals during a single campaign since Angela Kelly took over was 13 back in 2013.
- Texas is 18-1-1 over the past two seasons when scoring first in a match and a perfect 8-0-0 when doing so during the 2019 campaign.
- The Longhorns have now won 27 consecutive matches in which they scored two-or-more goals in a contest dating back to the start of the 2017 season. The last time Texas failed to win when tickling the twine on two occasions was in a 3-2 defeat at TCU back on Oct. 28, 2016.
