Started all 21 matches in the defensive backline while playing 1,893 of 1,908 possible minutes with two assists ... Played every available minute in 19 of Texas’ 21 matches ... Credited with another helper on a delivery from near midfield on Haley Berg’s 84th minute score to complete the 4-0 rout of Kansas State (Oct. 21) ... Was credited with her first assist of 2018 on a long pass ahead that led to Cyera Hintzen’s tying goal at 76:09 of the 1-1 (2OT) deadlock at No. 13 Oklahoma State (Sept. 28) ... The only Longhorns player to have been on the pitch for all 1668 possible minutes in 2016, doing so as part of the defensive backline ... Recorded two assists during her initial campaign on the Forty Acres to tie for third in the category ... Was on the field for all 90 minutes in the 1-0 loss to No. 1 West Virginia (Oct. 23) ... Managed a single shot during the 2-0 shutout of rival Texas Tech (Oct. 21) ... Played 100 or more minutes at Oklahoma (100 - Sept. 25) and versus Oklahoma State (103 - Sept. 30) ... Earned her first career playing time in a Big 12 Conference match by playing all 110 available ticks of the clock in the 1-1 (2OT) tie at Baylor (Sept. 23) ... Was on the field for every minute during high-profile match-ups versus #19 California (Sept. 4), at #19 Ohio State (Sept. 9) and versus then-unbeaten UCSB (Sept. 18) ... CLUB
With the Dallas Texans ECNL, Mshana co-captained her squad to the 2014 U-16 ECNL National Championship Game in Richmond, Va., while being selected to the event’s first team, as well as to the 2015 Dallas International U-18 Girls Cup Championship and a top four finish at the 2013 U-15 ECNL National Championship.
HIGH SCHOOL
A Top Drawer Soccer/IMG Academy National 150 Top Girls Player of the Watch and one of their top 15 national defenders for the class of 2016, Mshana helped lead her high school team to the 2014 TAPPS 5A State Championship as well as to runner-up finishes in 2013 and 2016, while earning a pair of state championship co-most valuable player honors (2013, 2014) and four consecutive TAPPS 5A All-State, All-District First Team and all-tournament accolades (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016) … As a senior in 2016, despite being a defender by trade, Mshana scored 32 goals and added 14 helpers on the way to receiving Top Drawer Soccer TeamSnap Winter First-Team All-American, Texas-North Region, Texas State Star and Dallas Morning News First-Team honors.
PERSONAL
Born on May 22, 1998 … Parents are Gerry Mshana and Prisca Mungai-Mshana … Has an older brother, Kala, and a younger sister, Tuye … Product of a very athletic family as her mother Prisca played basketball at Minnesota (1986-88) and was named Tanzania’s Women’s Basketball National Player of the Year in 1979 … Her father Gerry was a soccer and volleyball player at Tanesco Technical Institute in Tanzania (1982-86), while uncle Jimmy Mungai played soccer at Augsburg College from 1990-92 … Plans to study biology on the Forty Acres with a focus on becoming a physician’s assistant …Chose to attend Texas over schools including Texas A&M, Baylor, Houston and LSU.
