AUSTIN, Texas – On Sunday in front of the largest crowd of the season on "Senior Day" at Mike A. Myers Stadium (1,982), a "golden goal" at the 95:24 mark completed No. 17 Texas Tech's (13-2-2, 5-1-2 Big 12 Conference) late rally to knock off Texas soccer (10-7-0, 5-3-0 Big 12 Conference), 2-1 (OT).
Important Notes

- Texas has played a tough schedule this season as 13 of its 17 opponents currently own winning records and eight of those opponents own nine-or-more victories.
- Overtime hasn't been kind to the Longhorns this season as Texas is now 0-3 in the extra session during the 2019 campaign with losses to Providence (OT), West Virginia (2OT) and No. 17 Texas Tech (OT).
The Details
Texas came out on the front foot from the start of the match as sophomore forward Cameron Brooks had a shot blocked from the left side of the box during the fifth minute.
Texas Tech managed its first opportunity at 8:23 as forward Demi Koulizakis blasted away from well outside the box right into the waiting arms of UT keeper Madden.
The Longhorns continued their pressure over the next few minutes as senior forward Cyera Hintzen forced a Madison White save (9:36), Brooks fired wide left (10:45) and sophomore midfielder Julia Grosso (11:44) launched a shot over the crossbar from the right wing.
With Texas holding the majority of possession, Texas Tech did manage to force Madden into another save at 19:53 as midfielder Jordie Harr hit a 23-yard effort right at the keeper.
After Hintzen and junior midfielder Haley Berg each missed over the bar, Brooks had another solid chance in the 27th-minute. Unfortunately, her header from the middle of the 18 traveled wide right.
The best opportunity for either team over the opening half came in the 37th-minute. A TTU through ball was put directly into the path of Red Raider forward Kirsten Davis. She raced in 1-v-1 against Madden only to be denied by the charging goalkeeper.
Out of the halftime break, Davis was at it again for TTU as her shot from 30+ yards out had to be tipped up-and-over the bar by a leaping Madden.
Against the run of second half play, Brooks came close to an opener for the Longhorns at 54:37 as her shot from the left edge of the 18 had to be tipped over the crossbar by White.
During the 57th-minute, Texas had another solid chance to break in front as Berg had a shot blocked inside the box, while Hintzen followed up with an 18-yard effort that forced a stop.
Davis nearly got free again for TTU inside the 18 at 58:08, but Madden charged out to smother an eventual shot from point-blank range.
The scoreless deadlock was finally broken at 60:37 with help from the Red Raiders. Brooks took possession and dribbled up the left wing before crossing into the middle. Texas Tech defender Amanda Porter tracked back to try to clear the ball away, but ended up chipping the ball inside the right post to give the Longhorns a stunning 1-0 advantage.
The match opened up significantly after the goal with both teams creating a myriad of opportunities.
Brooks came desperately close to doubling the Texas advantage at 76:52, but her seven-yard shot from a tough angle on the left wing rattled off the crossbar before being cleared.
With the Red Raiders searching for an equalizer, the Longhorns defense continue its hard work by blocking shots while looking to run time off the clock.
It appeared like TTU might score at 87:05 but Davis' effort from space inside the 18 was driven just outside the left post.
Unfortunately for the Longhorns, the equalizer finally came off a corner kick at 88:44. The ball was fed inside the 18 where it ricocheted around in the crowd before getting headed home from eight yards out by midfielder Charlotte Teeter to tie the match at 1-1.
Heading into the first OT period, Texas Tech had the momentum, earning a corner kick at the 93:39 mark.
The end would finally come at 95:24 as Teeter drove into the top of the box and passed left to Macy Schultz. The substitute took a quick dribble upfield and found the net from 13 yards out to complete TTU's comeback.
