Sophomore forward Cameron Brooks scored at the 107:25 mark to secure the victory over the Sooners
NORMAN, Okla. – On a Halloween Thursday night at John Crain Field, it was more treat than trick for Texas soccer (11-7-0, 6-3-0 Big 12 Conference) as the Longhorns got a "golden goal" from sophomore forward Cameron Brooks at the 107:25 mark to finish off a 3-2 (2OT) "Red River Rivalry" victory over Oklahoma (8-8-3, 3-5-1 Big 12 Conference).
Important Notes

The Details
Oklahoma came out on the front foot to open the match as the Sooners needed just 4:37 to grab the lead. A cross from the right side was delivered perfectly to the back post where midfielder Maya McCutcheon was waiting to deflect it home from just two yards out to give OU a 1-0 advantage.
The Sooners continued their pressure over the next several minutes as forward Kaylee Dao (7:32) and midfielder Yuuka Kurosaki (15:02) had three combined shots saved by UT junior netminder Savannah Madden.
On their very first shot of the match at 20:57, the Longhorns located the equalizer. Grosso started the play with a pass upfield to Berg. The Celina, Texas, native then delivered a perfectly weighted pass between defenders and into the path of Hintzen. The two-time All-American took a dribble in the left side of the 18 before driving a shot back across goal and inside the right post to tie the score at 1-1.
OU came desperately close to grabbing back the lead in the 27th-minute as midfielder Sydney Sheehan had a shot saved off the goal line by Texas senior defender Atu Mshana. A Sooner follow-up just seconds later from Dao rattled off the outside of the left post.
Berg and Grosso combined again to set up the go-ahead goal at 39:00. This time it was Texas' Canadian international that delivered a perfect pass out wide left to Nobles who deftly chipped a ball over Oklahoma goalkeeper Nikki Panas and into the right upper 90 to make it 2-1.
Out of the halftime break, the match really opened up with numerous solid scoring chances for both teams.
Hintzen nearly got in for the Longhorns during the 60th-minute, but a Berg pass between defenders proved just a foot too far in front as Panas managed to gather.
A failed defensive clearance in the back spelled doom for the Horns at 68:15 as a ball bounced right to midfielder Jazzy Richards. Standing about 13 yards out, she managed to beat a diving Madden inside the right post to dead-lock the scoreboard at 2-2.
A beautiful move around a defender by senior forward Kyra Falcone nearly paid off for Texas in the 75th-minute as her eventual pass found Hintzen streaking in near the right post. Unfortunately, the Garland, Texas, native's eventual header traveled right to Panas for a save.
The woodwork was again unkind to the hosts at 80:27 as OU substitute Megan Reilly rattled a 30-yard shot off the top of the crossbar.
With time running short in regulation, Madden came up with perhaps the most vital of her eight saves as she corralled an open, 17-yard effort from midfielder Kristina O'Donnell.
In the first overtime, Grosso looked like she was on her way to a potential match-winner after receiving a pass in space between defenders while entering the box. Unfortunately, she lost her footing and fell to the turf before she could get off a shot.
The Sooners nearly concluded things in the middle of the second OT (104:51) as Dao received a pass in open space inside the box. She pivoted quickly and fired a shot from middle of the 18 only to have her effort scrape the outside of the right post.
Finally, the end came at 107:25 as Allen delivered a pass from the right side into the middle of the 18. A tightly-marked Brooks sealed off her defender, settled the ball, turned to her right and tucked a ball in the twine from nine yards out to complete the 3-2 (2OT) victory.
