No. 4 Volleyball earns share of Big 12 title

AMES, Iowa – The No. 4 Texas volleyball team took down Iowa State, 3-1: 23-25, 25-9, 25-19, 25-22, to move to 21-3, 15-1 on the season and earn a share for the 2019 Big 12 title and based on tie-break details, claim the automatic bid.
Senior Micaya White recorded her ninth double-double of the season as she led the match with 18 kills, adding 19 digs, three blocks and two aces.
Sophomore Brionne Butler added 11 kills with no errors, hitting .647. She also tallied a team-high seven blocks.
Freshman Asjia O'Neal and sophomore Logan Eggleston both tallied eight kills. O'Neal hit .429 for the match, adding six blocks, three digs and an ace, while Eggleston added six digs and four blocks.
Freshman Skylar Fields added seven kills, hitting .300 and six blocks.
Sophomore Jhenna Gabriel totaled 44 assists with 11 digs, while sophomore Sydney Petersen added 15 digs and two assists. Senior Claire Hahn tacked on 10 digs and two assists.
The Longhorns will await their postseason schedule as the 2019 NCAA Volleyball Championship bracket will be announced on ESPNU at 7:30 p.m. CT on Sunday, Dec. 1.
