No. 3 Women's Golf builds on lead at Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate

NEW ORLEANS – All five Texas golfers are inside the top-20 individually and the No. 3 Longhorns extended their lead to four strokes on Monday through 36 holes at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Golf Championship at English Turn Golf and Country Club.
The final round of the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Golf Championship will begin at 8 a.m. CT Tuesday with a shotgun start. The Longhorns are seeking their second victory of the year, after capturing the Betsy Rawls Invitational in October.
The Longhorns are at even-par with a two-round total of 576 [285-291]. No. 1 Southern California is in second with a four-over-par 580 [289-291], while No. 5 Duke is third with a six-over-par 582 [286-296].
As a team, Texas has totaled a field-best 121 pars and also has the best par-four scoring average [4.08, +8] among all teams in the field.
A LOOK AT THE LINEUP
- Senior Maddie Luitwieler is seeking her first career top-five finish. She currently is tied for fourth with a one-under par 143 [70-73]. She has 27 pars and five birdies on the week.
- Freshman Hailee Cooper is tied for 10th with a one-over-par 145 [69-76]. Cooper, competing in her sixth career tournament, will be looking for her third top-10 finish.
- Sophomore Agathe Laisne is in a tie for 14th place with a two-over-par 146 [76-70]. Her second-round 70 was the best score of any Texas golfer on Monday.
- Freshman Sára Kousková and sophomore Kaitlyn Papp are tied for 18th place with three-over-par 147s [73-74]. Papp leads the field with 29 pars.
