No. 1 Women's Golf leads Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational after 36 holes

All six Texas golfers are within the individual top-20.
KAILUA, Hawaii – Each of the Texas golfers are inside the top-20 individually and the No. 1 Longhorns lead by five strokes on Tuesday through 36 holes at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Club in Hawaii.
Texas has turned in a 12-over-par two-round total of 588 [299-289] to give the Longhorns a five-stroke lead over second-place SMU [291-302=593, +17]. Texas A&M is in third place with a 19-over-par 595 [295-300].
As a team, the Longhorns lead the tournament field in both total pars [118] and birdies [22]. Texas also has recorded the best scoring average on par-four [4.16, +16] and par-five [4.83, -7] holes.
With 18 holes remaining, the Longhorns are looking to win the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational for the second consecutive season.
A LOOK AT THE LINEUP
- Senior Maddie Luitwieler [72-74] and freshman Hailee Cooper [74-72] are tied for fifth place overall with two-over-par 146s. Luitwieler had the best par-five scoring average [4.63, -3] of any individual in the field.
- Freshman Sára Kousková posted a nine-stroke improvement from her first round to her second round and currently sits in a tie for seventh place with a three-over-par 147 [78-69]. She birdied four of her first seven holes in the second round for her second career round in the 60s.
- Sophomore Kaitlyn Papp is tied for 14th with a six-over-par 150 [76-74]. She finished with 27 pars and a pair of birdies on Tuesday.
- Junior Emilee Hoffman and junior Maren Cipolla [competing as an individual] are tied for 19th with eight-over-par 152s [77-75].
