Volleyball takes down Hawaii to open spring season

Sophomore Logan Eggleston led the Longhorns with 24 kills.
HONOLULU, Hawaii – Texas Volleyball defeated Hawaii, 3-2 (19-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-20, 15-12) in Honolulu on Friday night to kick off its spring season.
Freshman Logan Eggleston led the Longhorns with 24 kills, hitting .320, also adding 10 digs, three blocks, and two aces.
Senior Micaya White finished with 16 kills (.220) and nine digs, while sophomore Brionne Butler posted 10 kills (.381) and seven blocks, and freshman Asjia O'Neal had six kills (.357) and six blocks.
Junior Ashley Shook had 28 assists and five digs and sophomore Jhenna Gabriel had 16 assists, eight digs, and one ace. Sophomore Sydney Petersen posted eight digs and seven assists.
Texas will open its home spring season on Tuesday, March 26 to host Texas State at 8 p.m. Admission to the match is free.
