Track & Field completes last day of weekend road trips

Longhorns post two event wins at Mt. SAC Relays
AUSTIN, Texas - The University of Texas Track & Field team wrapped up the final day of competition on its road trips to California and Waco, Texas, which was highlighted by a pair of victories from Teahna Daniels in the 100m and Steffin McCarter in the long jump at the Mt. SAC Relays. At the Beach Invite in Long Beach, Calif., Tripp Piperi became the second-highest performer in the shot put with a toss of 21.01/68-11.25, good enough for the seventh-best attempt in program history.
Julien Alfred joined Daniels in the top-eight of the 100m, while Kynnedy Flannel (third-place) and Micaiah Harris (seventh-place) also earned top-10 finishes in the 200m at the Mt. SAC Relays held in Torrance, Calif.
At the Michael Johnson Invite in Waco, senior Shay Petty topped her previous personal best (4.15/13-7.25) with a mark of 4.22/13-10 to become the fifth-highest performer in pole vault in Longhorn history. Chris Ntreh (100m) and Anne Sofie Kirkegaard (400H) each set new personal-records with Kirkegaard taking sixth-place in the 400 hurdles, while Claudine Blancaflor took the runner-up spot in the 1500m.
