Chalk named to National College Baseball Hall of Fame

The Longhorns legend will be inducted into the hall of fame in November in Baton Rouge, La.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Former Texas Baseball standout Dave Chalk will be inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame in November in Baton Rouge, La., the hall announced Thursday.
This year's class will be inducted as a part of the College Baseball Night of Champions celebration Nov. 1-2 in Baton Rouge, La.
Chalk was a three-time All-American and four-time All-Southwest Conference performer at Texas from 1969-72. Chalk posted a career batting average of .362, a school record at the time, and hit a career-best .405 in 1971. He led the Longhorns to four Southwest Conference championships and three College World Series appearances, being named to the All-CWS team in 1972.
Following his stellar career at Texas, Chalk spent nine years in Major League Baseball with the California Angels, Texas Rangers, Oakland Athletics and Kansas City Royals. Chalk was a two-time All-Star and played in the 1980 World Series with the Royals.
Chalk was inducted into the Texas Hall of Honor in 1983 and the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame in 2002.
