NOTES
- Coming off a 23-5 record and an NCAA Regional Finals finish, Texas Volleyball enters the 2019 season at No. 4 in the AVCA Preseason Coaches' Poll, and No. 1 in the Big 12 Preseason rankings.
- For head coach Jerritt Elliott's 19th season, the Longhorns return 2018 Big 12 Player of the Year and 2019 Preseason Player of the Year Micaya White and Big 12 Freshman of the Year Logan Eggleston, while bringing in 2019 Big 12 Preseason Freshman of the Year Skylar Fields.
- They take on a challenging slate in 2019 as they open with Northern Iowa, No. 14 USC and No. 3 Minnesota. The non-conference schedule also features match-ups with No. 1 Stanford, No. 9 BYU and Rice, while the daunting Big 12 schedule helps prepare the Longhorns for a run in the postseason.
- Sophomore Sydney Petersen will be playing against her twin sister, Baylee, and her mom, Bobbi, for the first time in her life when the Longhorns take on UNI. Sydney and Baylee were members of three state championship volleyball squads in 2014, 2016 and 2017 for Dike-New Hartford in Dike, Iowa. They also have two younger sisters, Jadyn and Payton, who are also twins.
- Texas Volleyball has been picked No. 4 in the 2019 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Preseason Coaches' Poll. Texas, who was the No. 1 pick in the Big 12 Coaches' Poll, is one of two Big 12 teams in the top-25 as Baylor came in at No. 20. Both TCU and Kansas are receiving votes. They look to take on a challenging slate in the 2019 season as they open with receiving votes (RV) Northern Iowa, No. 14 USC, and No. 3 Minnesota. The nonconference schedule also features No. 1 Stanford, No. 9 BYU and RV Rice.
- Texas owns a 110-52 (.679) record against ranked opponents over the last 13 seasons (2004-18) and a 51-12 (.810) mark against ranked opponents at Gregory Gym during that span.
- Head Coach Jerritt Elliott was the interim head coach at USC for the 1999 and 2000 seasons. He started as the volunteer at USC in 1994, in 1995-98, he was the assistant. In 1999, he was first assistant at USC when he interviewed for the head coaching job there, which was given to Mick Haley. Haley couldn't take the job because he was under contract through the 2000 Olympics, so Elliott was named interim head coach for two seasons (1999 season, 2000 season). Elliott was only 30 when he was named interim, and turned in back-to-back No. 1 recruiting classes in 2000 and 2001, USC's first-ever No. 1 recruiting classes
