Papp's 68 leads No. 3 Women's Golf on second day of ANNIKA

Papp turned in her 40th collegiate round at par or better.
LAKE ELMO, Minn. – Junior Texas women's golfer Kaitlyn Papp fired a four-under-par 68 on Tuesday to lead the No. 3 Texas women's golf team on the second day of the prestigious ANNIKA Intercollegiate at Royal Golf Club.
The Longhorns currently are in fourth place overall with a three-under-par team total of 573 [288-285]. No. 9 Wake Forest, the 2019 NCAA runner-up, leads the field with a 12-under-par 564 [282-282]. No. 1 Southern California is in second with a six-under-par 570 [291-279], while No. 18 Arkansas is in third at four-under-par 572 [283-289]. The 12-team field at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate features 11 squads ranked among the nation's top-25, including six top-10 teams.
For the week, the Longhorns have the third-most birdies of any team in the field with 36. Texas has also totaled 104 pars. In addition, the Longhorns have the second-best scoring average of any team on par-five holes [4.73, -11].
LINEUP AT A GLANCE
- Papp is tied for second with a six-under-par two-round total of 138 [70-68]. She is currently four strokes off the lead held by Wake Forest's Rachel Kuehn at 10-under. Papp had an impressive second round with six birdies and 10 pars. It marked her 40th collegiate round at par or better. Her 12 birdies on the week so far are the most of any player in the field.
- Freshman Sophie Guo turned in her second consecutive round at par or better and is currently tied for eighth with a three-under-par 141 [69-72]. Guo is tied for the best scoring average on par-five holes of any golfer in the field [4.38, -5].
- Sophomore Hailee Cooper [76-72] and senior Emilee Hoffman [73-75] are both tied for 30th with four-over-par 148s.
- Sophomore Sára Kousková is tied for 40th with a five-over-par 149 [76-73]. Kousková recorded an eagle on the par-five 18th hole on Tuesday.

The final round of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate is set to take place on Wednesday. Tee times for the Longhorns begin at 8:30 a.m. CT at Royal Golf Club.
