No. 6 Volleyball takes down Iowa State, 3-1

AUSTIN, Texas - The No. 6 Texas Volleyball opened Big 12 play with a 3-1 win over Iowa State; 25-18, 18-25, 25-19, 25- 22 on Wednesday night in Gregory Gym to move to 7-2 on the season.
Senior Micaya White recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 19 kills and ten digs. She also added two blocks and one ace.
Freshman Skylar Fields tied her career-high with 15 kills and added two blocks. During the third set, Fields took over and helped the Longhorn come from behind on a 9-0-12 hitting line.
Logan Eggleston posted ten kills and seven digs, and freshman Molly Phillips went 7-0-10 on the attack, adding three blocks. It was a full team effort with senior Orie Agbaji and freshman Asjia O'Neal both adding two kills.
Sophomore Jhenna Gabriel led Texas with 44 assists, eight digs, and one ace while Ashley Shook and Sydney Petersen added four and six assists, respectively. Petersen also posted ten digs and one ace, and senior Claire Hahn added one assist and five digs.
The Longhorns will return to action in Gregory Gym on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 1 p.m. to take on Texas Tech.
