No. 6 Volleyball sweeps Texas Tech

Texas improves to 2-0 in Big 12 play after 3-0 win in front of a sold-out Gregory Gym.
AUSTIN, Texas -- The No. 6 Texas Volleyball swept Texas Tech, 25-17, 25-18, 25-18, in front of a sold-out crowd in Gregory Gym on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Micaya White led the team in kills with 13 kills, hitting .520, adding four digs and one block. Sophomore Logan Eggelston and freshman Skyler Fields added 12 and 11 kills respectively. Fields finished the match hitting .647, while Eggleston hit .455. Eggleston tacked on six digs and two aces to her stat line as well.
Sophomore Jhenna Gabriel totaled 34 assists on the game and recorded two aces. She also had three kills and three digs to help out the Longhorns.
Sophomore Brionne Butler played in her second game of the season, and while only playing one set, she put down four kills on four swings. Freshman Molly Phillips and senior Orie Agbaji contributed with five combined kills while Phillips led the way defensively with five total blocks.
Sophomore Sydney Petersen led the match with 12 digs.
The Longhorns will return to action on Wednesday, October 2 at 8 p.m. when they travel to Fort Worth to play TCU.
