The Longhorns dropped their second-straight game, falling to the Sooners in the AT&T Red River Showdown.

DALLAS – The No. 22/22 Texas Football team was bested by RV/RV Oklahoma, 53-45, in four overtimes at the AT&T Red River Showdown on Saturday. It is the second-straight loss for the Longhorns, who fall to 2-2 (1-2 Big 12) for the season.

KEY MOMENTS
• Oklahoma opened up a 10-0 lead after the Longhorns fumbled the ball away and went three-and-out on their opening two drives.
• The Texas defense forced a turnover on three-straight drives (INT, Fumble, Fumble), leading to 10 Longhorn points and a tie ballgame.
• Oklahoma blocked a UT punt after the Longhorns took over following their second fumble recovery, leading to the Sooners taking a 17-10 advantage in the second quarter.
• Texas responded by driving 75 yards in eight plays to knot the game at 17-17. Senior QB Sam Ehlinger provided the game-tying score in the second quarter, scoring his second rushing touchdown of the day.
• Ehlinger's two rushing touchdowns in the first half brought his total to 28 for his career, 10 of which have come against Oklahoma. His 10 rushing touchdowns vs. Oklahoma are the most by any player in school history, and his 28 total rushing touchdowns are the second-most by a quarterback on Texas record.
• Both teams had a chance to take the lead heading into halftime, but were forced to punt the ball away, leaving the game square, 17-17, after 30 minutes.
• Oklahoma scored on its opening drive of the second half to take a 24-17 lead less than five minutes into the second half.
• The Sooners extended their lead to 14 points following a 17-play, 87-yard drive that took 8:07 off the clock.
• With just over five minutes remaining in the game and the Longhorns driving, Ehlinger's longball, intended for sophomore WR Joshua Moore in the endzone, was intercepted.
• Ehlinger connected with Moore on Texas' next offensive drive, cutting the deficit to seven points with 3:28 remaining.
• The Longhorns completed a 14-point rally, as Ehlinger found RB Keaontay Ingram on a two-yard touchdown pass to tie the game at 31-31 and force overtime.
• Ehlinger found the endzone on the ground for the third time on a three-yard score during Texas' opening possession of overtime, giving the Longhorns their first lead of the day, 38-31.
• The Longhorns forced a fourth-down from the 1-yard line in the second overtime period, but Sooner QB Spencer Rattler scored on a sneak play from under center to give OU the lead once again.
• Ehlinger darted into the endzone from 25 yards out, surpassing 100 yards for the day on the ground, to tie the game and send it to a third overtime period.
• Both teams missed field goals in the third overtime. It is the first time on UT record that the Longhorns played past double overtime.
• Ehlinger's pass to the endzone was intercepted after Oklahoma scored and converted a two-point try in the fourth overtime period, ending the game.
