Volleyball moves to 4-0 with sweep of Kansas

AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Volleyball improved to 4-0 with a second-straight sweep of Kansas, 25-20, 25-19, 25-15, on Friday night at the Frank Erwin Center.
Logan Eggleston led the Longhorns in kills for the fourth-straight match, finishing with 18. She also added seven digs, two blocks and one ace. Skylar Fields finished in double-digits for the fourth time this season with 10 kills.
Jhenna Gabriel dished out 31 assists and added eight digs, three kills and two blocks. Brionne Butler contributed five kills and five blocks, while Asjia O'Neal had a team-high six blocks to go with four kills.
The Longhorns finished the match with a season-high 12 total blocks as a team, including six in the third set. Texas and Kansas were competitive through the first two sets, with the Longhorns edging the Jayhawks at the end. In the third set, Texas fired on all cylinders, jumping out to a 6-0 lead and never looking back.
Texas will be back in action at the Erwin Center next week, hosting Iowa State on Thursday, Oct. 8 and Friday, Oct. 9 with both matches at 7 p.m. on Longhorn Network.
