No. 1 Volleyball sweeps Texas Tech

AUSTIN, Texas – No. 1 Texas Volleyball improved to 9-0 with a sweep of Texas Tech, 25-17, 25-20, 25-12, Thursday night at the Frank Erwin Center. The Longhorns completed their seventh sweep of the season to remain undefeated.
Logan Eggleston led the Longhorns with 20 kills and added eight digs, two blocks and one service ace. Asjia O'Neal finished with nine kills and three blocks. Brionne Butler had seven kills and a team-high six blocks while Molly Phillips added seven kills and three blocks. Skylar Fields had six kills and five blocks.
Jhenna Gabriel had her fourth double-double of the season, with 38 assists and 10 digs. Morgan O'Brien led the Longhorns with 15 digs.
The Longhorns and Red Raiders played the first two sets closely, before Texas exploded in the third set. With an early 6-4 lead, Texas went on a 9-0 run to put Texas Tech out of reach.
Texas and Texas Tech will square off again on Friday at 6 p.m. at the Erwin Center.
