Women’s Golf falls in East Lake Cup match play semifinals

The Longhorns were bested by Ole Miss, 4-0-1, in Tuesday’s match play semifinals.
ATLANTA – The Texas women's golf team was bested by Ole Miss, 4-0-1, during the match play semifinals of the East Lake Cup on Tuesday.
Ashley Park, anchoring the side picked up the Longhorns' half-point against Ole Miss' Andrea Lingell. In the pole position for Texas, Sophie Guo gave herself a shot to square the match after a birdie on No. 17, but both competitors parred the hole, giving the match to the Rebels, one-up. The remaining three Longhorns all were edged out, 2&1, by their counterpart.
The Longhorns wrap up their three-day week at the East Lake Golf Club tomorrow with a round of consolation match play against Florida. Due to expected weather in the Atlanta area tomorrow, tee times have been moved up and split tees will be used. Texas will go off of the 10th tee beginning at 7:30 a.m. CT. Golf Channel will have live coverage from the East Lake Cup from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. CT.
