No. 1 Volleyball wins Big 12 title with sweep of No. 13 West Virginia

The Longhorns improve to 14-0 and are the outright champions of the Big 12 Conference.
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – With a sweep of No. 13 West Virginia, No. 1 Texas Volleyball won its fourth-consecutive Big 12 Conference Championship on Friday night at WVU Coliseum. The Big 12 Championship is the 13th overall for the Longhorns, who have won or shared nine of the last 10 league championships and 12 of the previous 14.
Texas won the first set, 25-15, but put their stamp on the match in the second set. The Longhorns won resoundingly in the second, 25-8, before finishing off the Mountaineers, 25-20, in the third.
Skylar Fields led Texas with 14 kills and added two blocks, hitting .414 for the match. Logan Eggleston finished with nine kills and nine digs as well as two service aces. Asjia O'Neal added eight kills and five blocks, hitting .400. Molly Phillips added seven kills and a block.
Jhenna Gabriel dished out 30 assists and added six digs, while Nalani Iosia led the team with 14 digs. Sydney Petersen chipped in 13 from the back row.
