No. 2 Volleyball sweeps Oklahoma

AUSTIN, Texas – No. 2 Texas Volleyball opened the Spring campaign with a straight-sets win over Oklahoma, 25-17, 25-22, 25-22 on Friday afternoon in a non-conference match at Austin High School. The Longhorns remain undefeated, improving to 15-0 overall, while the Sooners fall to 3-10.
Logan Eggleston led the way for Texas, registering 16 kills and hitting .419 in the match, while adding eight digs and three services aces. In her Longhorn debut, Melanie Parra finished with 10 kills, while Asjia O'Neal and Molly Phillips each finished with six kills apiece.
Jhenna Gabriel dished out 34 assists and equaled Eggleston with a co-team-leading eight digs. O'Neil paced the Longhorns with three blocks, with Eggleston and Brionne Butler collecting one each.
The Longhorns trailed 18-11 in the final set but rallied to draw even at 20-20 before taking control of the match.
Texas and Oklahoma will match up again on Saturday at 12 p.m. CT. They match will be closed to the public.
