- Texas enters Friday with a 16-8-4 advantage in its all-time series against Texas Tech, including a 6-5-0 mark in Lubbock. The Red Raiders have won the last two meetings, including the most recent match-up at the John Walker Soccer Complex back on Oct. 25, 2018 (1-0). In all, 14 of the last 15 contests in the series have been settled by one goal or required overtime.
- Texas head coach Angela Kelly is closing in on another coaching milestone in her 21st season, entering Friday's match at Texas Tech with 249 career wins. The Brantford, Ontario, native needs just one more "W" to reach the 250-career win plateau.
- Senior goalkeeper Savannah Madden was honored on Tuesday for her outstanding play against Baylor as the San Diego, Calif., native picked up her first career selections to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week and as the Big 12 Conference Goalkeeper of the Week. Madden tied her career-high by making 10 saves during the 1-0 shutout of the Bears at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

- UT is 22-3-1 since the start of the 2018 season when scoring first in a match and 4-0-0 in such contests in 2020.
- Senior midfielder/forward Haley Berg enters Friday having totaled at least one point in four of her last six matches. She recently equaled her career-long point scoring streak of four matches by tallying at least one point from Sept. 25 vs. Oklahoma to Oct. 16 vs. Iowa State. She had previously accomplished that feat from Oct. 7-21, 2018.
