AUSTIN, Texas – Texas soccer sophomore defender Emma Regan has received a Team Canada call-up to participate in the upcoming CONCACAF Women's Under-20 Championship to be held in the Dominican Republic over Feb. 26-March 8, 2020.
As a part of Group E, Canada will battle El Salvador (Feb. 22), Guatemala (Feb. 24) and Jamaica (Feb. 26) before potential knockout round play begins.
The top two teams in the event will qualify for August's 2020 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup that will be hosted by Costa Rica & Panama.
In her most recent international action, Regan picked up her first career senior-level cap by subbing on at halftime of Canada's 12-0 rout of Cuba (Oct. 8, 2018) that helped the squad move to the top of Group B at the CONCACAF Women's Championship.
Prior to that appearance, Regan was called up to the Canadian Women's Senior National Team for the CONCACAF Women's Championship Preliminary Camp on Sept. 19, 2018, and for a June 10, 2018, friendly against Germany. She also earned caps (played all 450 possible minutes) for Team Canada during its run to the third-place match at the 2018 CONCACAF Under-20 Women's World Championship in Trinidad & Tobago and started all three matches at the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Papua, New Guinea.
