Five Men’s Golfers earn All-Region honors

Division I PING All-Region honorees have been announced by the GCAA.
NORMAN, Okla. – The Texas Men's Golf Team saw five student-athletes earned Division I PING All-Region Honors as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Thursday evening.
Senior Spencer Soosman, sophomores Pierceson Coody, Parker Coody and Cole Hammer, and freshman Travis Vick all were named to the Central Region's list of honorees.
Soosman, who announced his decision to go pro last week on social media, was having the best season of his career with a 70.92 average score through five events and 13 rounds. His 70.92 was almost two strokes better than his previous best season in 2017-18 of 72.58.
Pierceson Coody had a team-low 70.38 on the season though 16 rounds, having seven rounds in the 60s. He also was named to the Haskins Award Watch list and the 2020 Arnold Palmer Cup team.
Parker Coody's season was highlighted by his first collegiate tournament win at the Southern Highlands Invitational. He played in seven tournaments and shot a 71.26.
Hammer also played in seven tournaments and finished the season with a 71.68, with two top-10 finishes and two more in the top-20.
In his first collegiate season, Vick played in six tournaments and shot an average of a 72.00. The highlight of his season was a 69 second-place finish at the East Lake Cup Stroke Play.
Texas finished the season as the consensus No. 4 in all three major polls.
