Foster and Men's Swim & Dive Shine at Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The top-ranked men's swimming and diving program dominated the first day of the dual meet against Virginia, with just eight events to go on Saturday.
Sophomore Carson Foster dominated his individual events, setting the fastest dual meet time ever in the men's 400 IM with a time of 3:40.48. His time was a Virginia pool record and later followed up with a 200 fly win with a time of 1:44.29.
HIGHLIGHTS:
• Jordan Windle got the event wins started, sweeping both diving events and claiming a Virginia pool record in 1-meter with his score of 411.15. Texas also claimed the top five spots in the event. Windle later claimed the 3meter with 420.75 points, while Noah Duperre finished close behind with 406.88 points.
• In the pool, the 200 medley relay swam the third-fastest time in the NCAA this 2021 season with a time of 1:25.92 – swam by Anthony Grimm, Caspar Corbeau, Alvin Jiang and Daniel Krueger.
• Horns went 1-3 in the 200 freestyle as Drew Kibler took the top time at 1:36.19, followed by Coby Carrozza and Peter Larson.
• Daniel Krueger posted an NCAA top-five time in the 50 free with his time of 19.69 to win the event.
• Alvin Jiang and Anthony Grimm finished with the two fastest times in the 100 backstroke with times of 47.93 and 48.13.
• Caspar Corbeau's time of 52.82 seconds, a top-10 current NCAA time, in the 100 breaststroke won the day.
• Texas claimed the top three times in the 1000 freestyle, led by David Johnston's time of 9:01.85, freshman Luke Hobson's 9:08.62 and Alex Zettle's time of 9:11.01.
• The Longhorns closed the day sweeping the relays with another first-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay swam by Cameron Auchinnachie, Kibler, Foster and Krueger. The time of 2:53.16 is currently the NCAA's leading time of the season.
